Youre a song writer, right? Do you play a little guitar, or are you into looping, making mad rhymes? Do you find yourself counting the syllables in your lines to make sure the rhythm will fit? Your singer will appreciate it when they do. Lyric Press will show you the syllable count for each line as you type. This is an easy way to make sure your singer understands how the words fit.

It also has a built-in rhyming dictionary (for optimum speed and availability) that is accessed by selecting a word and tapping. Now it is easy to find rhymes while jotting down lyric ideas in the park or composing your rock opera on the bus. All without leaving the application and losing the flow or the idea. The rhyming dictionary is built-in to the application, so you can use it without WiFi/3G. The same is true of the syllable count mechanism, so write your lyrics in the woods if thats your thing! (Please note that Wikipedia/Google lookups for words, as well as Facebook and Email support functions will require a connection.)

Lyric Press. Now you dont need to manually count syllables every time the line changes. This also makes it easier to get the song down correctly the first time. It takes only a few minutes to type in the amazing lyrics that appeared in your head, and then another few seconds to see if the timing looks good. The rhyming dictionary (English) expands your creativity and makes lyric-writing fun.

Not very accurate
Am i doing something wrong? How can people think this is a great app? I inputed one of my songs to check the results, knowing I had already metered it out. The app had erroneous results. It counted my comma at the end of the line as a new syllable. It counted a contraction (theres) as two syllables. Needs work and definitely not worth the money paid.
Love it
Lyric Press is an example of letting computers do what they do best. Counting syllables is no fun and tedious, but insanely important for good song writing. LPs syllable count feature takes the boring part out of writing songs and lets me focus on the song itself and what I want to say with the lyrics. Teamed up with the rhyming dictionary, my only wish is that the iPhone had a full-sized keyboard. Im hoping this one comes out for the iPad, because typing works a lot better there.
Pretty neat
I like this app a lot. It comes in very handy for us beginning songwriters to have a tool like this. My only complaints are that the rhyming dictionary isnt terribly large or comprehensive from what I can tell, and Id really like to have email support so that if I have to restore my device for some reason I can have all of my songs backed up. Other than that, great app! Ill give you 5 stars when it becomes email compatable. Thanks! Edit: the rhyming dictionary actually does have a lot of words. Unfortunately, even though Im no slouch when it comes to the English language, a lot of words in this app I dont even recognize. They look almost Norse in origin. And exiting the app to look them up is never a good option... Perhaps a dictionary needs to be included?
I like it
